It’s pretty simple concept. Just think of consulting but much shorter, much more agile, and a lot more customizable. Micro consulting was born out of the COVID-19 pandemic. I believe that this pandemic disproportionally affects the baby boomers. Anne’s Buzzfeed article said it best….

As I was working alongside many organizations that were forced to change rapidly, challenged to stay afloat in a turbulant waters, it occurred to me just how many people in leadership roles were being forced to maintain their staff, care for the wellbeing of those around them and try to maintain the work that they had put in over the course of their careers. Maintaining productivity, keeping up with the capacity and rapid change is a recipe for S-T-R-E-S-S. So this is my response. This is the pinch hitter, relief for leaders, for bosses, for executives, CEO’s, CIO’s, SVP’s, VP’s and everyone with an acronym for a name. This is for the boomers. You might catch a lot of flack these days but you helped drag our generation kicking and screaming into the modern world. I appreciate you. 

To further define, “micro consulting” requires you to maintain your leadership role while providing the supplemental knowledge, insight or techniques in order for you or your organization to achieve a desired outcome, without the hassles of the typical consultant.
